CYPW Research Network: Cleft Collective Visit

Thursday, 07 May 2026 at 10:30

The aim of this in-person event is to develop an inter-disciplinary collaboration between the CYP Wellbeing network and the Cleft Collective Team.

Event details

The aim of the event is to facilitate research bridging genetics, physical health, and mental health in children and young people. The Cleft Collective team () have expertise in genetics and setting up a large cohort study; the CYP Wellbeing network members have expertise in analysing large datasets, investigating the factors that influence mental health needs in children and young people, including the impact of physical health and family responses to physical and mental health needs.

The event will include short talks from both groups and will enable us to identify research synergies, plan new studies using the Cleft Collective data, and identify and apply for between-institution and inter-disciplinary collaborative UKRI grant funding. We are keen to include all career stages in the meeting, especially PGRs, ECRs, and mid-career researchers, to support research opportunities for all.

If you are interested in collaboration you are invited to join us. To help with catering,
